FAQ’S

We’ve gathered some questions frequently asked by guests pre-arrival on one easy page. If we have not answered your query here, please get in touch.

Can I use a drone for photography and filming at Keemala?
Keemala places the highest priority on the privacy and safety of guests and staff, as well as avoiding disruption and maintaining tranquility throughout the property. To this end, please be advised that drone use by resort guests and visitors is not permitted on property or in the airspace above Keemala. Thank you for your cooperation.
1) How many villas are there at Keemala?
We’ve a total of 38 pool villas. 16 Clay Pool Cottages, (two offer two bedroom layouts) seven Tent Pool Villas, seven Tree Pool Houses and eight Bird’s Nest Pool Villas.
2) I have small children is Keemala right for our family?
At Keemala we are happy to welcome guests of all ages, however due to our natural and un-prohibiting design and landscape together with our peaceful and quiet atmosphere we describe ourselves as not child friendly. We do not have a kids club, kids pool or any children’s activities. As we do not want to disappoint our young fans, we do accept children, but only when travelling with 2 adults. Children inside Keemala will remain the responsibility of their parents for both health and safety aspects, and to ensure the adult atmosphere for all guests inside the resort is not effected. Please note that not all our villas are suitable for children.
3) Does Keemala have a private beach?
All beaches in Thailand are preserved for the enjoyment of the Kingdom\'s people and are not private. Keemala has no direct access to the beach, as we\'re located in the rainforest. We offer a short 5-minute ride via complimentary shuttle service to Kamala beach for guests to enjoy.
4) Is it possible to enjoy an early check-in or late check-out?
If the villa is available, you may enjoy an early check-in and/or late checkout, this is subject to availability as we may have other guests checking into, or out of your villa on the same day. We will do our utmost to facilitate your request. Standard check-in time is 3pm and checkout time is 12pm.
5) How do I book a villa?

6) What is included in my villa rate?
Depending whether you\'ve booked via an agent or a specific package we normally offer the following to all full paying guests who\'ve booked directly via our website: Full daily breakfast, return airport transfers, fast track immigration (Phuket only) wireless internet access, daily housekeeping, 24 hour uniformed security, full use of the fitness room, some complimentary wellness activities, personalised villa host and concierge service, daily larder replenishment, fresh coffee and tea in-villa and luxurious toiletries and amenities.
7) What is the maximum occupancy of the villas?
Clay Pool Cottage may sleep two guests, the two bedrooms Clay Pool Cottages may sleep four guests, Tent Pool Villa may sleep two guests, Tree Pool House may sleep four guests and Bird\'s Nest Pool Villa may sleep three guests only. Please enquire about additional charges.
8) What is included in breakfast?
We put a lot of emphasis into our breakfast and offer a small buffet style of cuisine as well as an al la Carte menu to choose from. You\'ll enjoy a selection of fresh tropical fruit, fresh juice and smoothies, yoghurt, home made jams, toast, pastries, croissants, cereals, eggs, bacon, Asian breakfast items, coffee and tea and much more. For some guests who are taking time to focus on well being we offer a menu free from processed fats, and those who are looking for some indulgence, fear not, bacon, eggs, smoked salmon, cheese and prosecco are all available.
9) What are our options for mealtimes?
Depending on the package you\'ve opted for our restaurant offers international fine dining with a fusion of Thai cuisine and healthy, raw, vegetarian options for those who want to opt for something lighter. We have a great wine list and fantastic cocktails to choose from so there really is a balance of wholesome soul food on offer. Alternatively you may choose in-villa dining or request our Chef to prepare a barbecue. We have also a creative destination-dining menu and picnic options.
10) What is there for us to do on Phuket?
Phuket is a beautiful island offering so many exciting excursions and activities, from nature walks in and around Keemala to adrenaline inducing zip lines through the jungle. The beaches are stunning and depending on the season are either great for swimming or offer good surf. We encourage guests to immerse in local culture by walking around the village or visiting Phuket Old Town and by experiencing tours that offer a more environmen- tally friendly ethos. Your villa host will guide you on how to get the best out of Phuket.
11) What is the cancellation policy?
Depending on the season we apply the following policy: In the quieter period, April to October we will charge a full one nights charge if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival. Throughout the high season, November to March, there will be a one nights charge if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival. Keemala will charge a full length stay charge if cancelled less than 5 days prior to arrival date. The peak season is 24 December through to 10 January, 3 nights will be charged if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival, full length stay charge if cancelled less than 7 days.
12) How do we get around Phuket?
We offer airport transfers; some guests will have this automatically included in their rate. We also offer complimentary shuttle service to Kamala beach from 9am to 5pm. We offer our own drivers and local taxis are readily available outside of the resort. If you\'d like to self-drive there are car hire companies, we will help you book. Please ensure you bring an International Driver\'s License.
13) What Climate Can I Expect in Phuket?
Temperatures range from 24°C to 35°C and seawater is always a nice 25°C to 28°C. You will not be cold. The cooler times of year correlate with the Northern hemisphere winter time, therefore December, January and February are the driest, sunniest and more comfortable times to visit.
14) What money do I need?
The Thai currency is the Baht, which is easily convertible into most major currencies. Moneychangers and ATM services are located all around Phuket. In Keemala we accept cash and American Express, VISA, Master Card, Diners Club and JCB.
15) I have special dietary requirements can you cater for me?
Please inform us with plenty of notice and we will try our best. Food allergies can be catered for depending on severity. We cannot guarantee cross contamination with peanuts or gluten products, although we do offer gluten and nut free menu items. Also if you require Kosher or Halal we would need notice to order produce.
16) I am disabled. Are you accessible?
We do have some villas specifically designed for wheelchair access although we are located on a hillside so there may be certain challenges, we would kindly ask you to get in touch with us so we may explain everything fully and make sure that we will be the right choice for your stay.
